Accountability and reporting

In addition to establishing our Accountability policy and remaining accountable to one another and to our larger community, we will hold regular Roundtable discussions.

This process will lead to many additional commitments and strategies to stand behind our values and remain in open dialogue with our colleagues, collaborators, and communities.

Our collective is new and continues to grow.

We recognize our learning curve and we aim to revisit our procedures as we advance conversations in our accountability roundtables.

We recognize that we are not the arbiters of what is true and that we cannot determine whether harm was caused/to whom/by whom, we can only respond in support of those who reach out.

When an act of violence or misconduct is reported and involves parties connected directly or indirectly to our membership, Means of Production commits to the following.

  1.  We believe that transformative justice is possible

  2. We believe survivors and seek to provide support to those who have been harmed or wronged.

  3. Following separate conversations with concerned parties  - we will act by removing the individual in question from our core communications and digital workspaces, and notifying both the individual in question, and the harmed party of this action

  4. The 3 members listed in our feedback form below are available to be contacted for accountability conversations about community members or MoP members

  5. While not qualified to mediate or determine truth, MoP offers to accompany and support harmed parties through witnessing, listening, documenting, hosting conversation(s), if requested.

  6. If the harmed party makes a public statement, MoP will reiterate our commitment to transformative justice and reach out to offer support, and act in consultation with our community.

we are accountable to you
